Our Origin
Like myself, Modus started in Victoria, B.C. I noticed hard working people were being sold the same generic wellness products as everyone else, as if performance were an afterthought.
So I set out to build a supplement company grounded in adaptogen research, made for people who regularly run close to their limits.
Every decision, from which mushroom species we use to extraction ratios and capsule fill weights, comes back to one question: will this make a real difference for someone working at a high level? If it won't, it doesn't go into Modus products.
What We Stand For
Supplements are full of vague claims and underdosed formulas. These are the rules we hold ourselves to instead.

We formulate from published research and extraction science. If the evidence doesn't back a claim, we don't make it, and every dose is chosen to do something.

Every ingredient, milligram, and extraction ratio is on the label. We don't use proprietary blends, so nothing can hide an underdose and you always know what you're taking.

We use only the fruiting body of each mushroom, never mycelium grown on grain. The fruiting body carries far more beta-glucans and other active compounds, which is the reason to take mushrooms in the first place.

Adaptogens aren't stimulants. Their benefits build up over weeks, so our routines are designed around the 60 to 90 days needed for adaptation to kick in.

Certified organic, third-party tested for heavy metals, pesticides, and microbes, and packed in HPMC (vegan) capsules. We make these as if we were making them for ourselves, because we are.

The Science
Functional mushrooms have been part of traditional medicine for thousands of years, and peer-reviewed research is now showing how they work. Compounds like beta-glucans, triterpenes, erinacines, and cordycepin have measurable effects on the nervous system, immune response, and cellular energy.
We use dual extraction to pull both the water-soluble polysaccharides and the alcohol-soluble triterpenes out of each mushroom. A single extraction only captures one of the two.
Each mushroom is paired with adaptogens, nootropics, or cofactors that have been clinically studied and work well together.

Certified organic mushrooms grown on natural, grain-free substrates like wood, in conditions close to each species' native habitat. Every batch can be traced back to where it was grown.

Hot water pulls out the beta-glucans and polysaccharides, and alcohol pulls out the triterpenes and fat-soluble compounds. We keep both, standardize them, and test them for active content.

An independent lab tests every batch for heavy metals, pesticide residue, microbes, and potency before it goes anywhere near a fill line.

Made in an NSF-certified, GMP-compliant facility, in HPMC (vegan) capsules with no magnesium stearate, silica, or artificial flow agents. What's on the label is what's in the capsule.
